LOWERCASE (3yr program)
In our three-year-old class, a lot of emphasis is placed on alphabet letters and their sounds. Alphabet letters are not taught in alphabetical order, but in order of ease of identification according to shape and sound. Basic mathematical concepts and math manipulative such as linking cubes are used. Letter writing, particularly each name writing will be practiced and small motor skill exercises will be emphasized in order to help them with cutting and handwriting. These will be done on a daily basis. Singing songs and having each child share with the class every day helps to encourage a fun learning environment and helps raise social skills and a child’s ability to express themselves in a group setting.
LOWERCASE OPTIONS (3yr program)
UPPERCASE (4yr program)
In our four-year-old class, we concentrate on language arts including reading letter sounds, blends, digraphs, sight words and phonics. A lot of attention is placed on basic math concepts including basic addition and subtraction. Math manipulatives are used, and writing numbers and reading number sentences are areas of focus. We give out weekly readers to all the four-year-old students every Monday, and have them return them every Friday. These readers should be practiced every night with parents for a minimum of five minutes.
Both the three and four-year-old classes have fun theme-based lessons that incorporate drawing, painting, coloring, craftwork, singing songs, and exploring the world all around them. Monthly holidays, festivities, and birthdays are celebrated. Dinosaurs, holidays around the world, weather, the four seasons, the five senses, nutrition, emotions, our environment are just some of the monthly fun-filled themes that our class explores.

Literacy Skills: reading and writing are developed with phonemic awareness, matching the sounds of language to the symbols (letters) that represent the sounds. We use fun, musical phonics based methods to teach the children reading. Students accurately acquire a solid foundation for reading using concrete skills. Students also practice forming and writing letters while holding pencils correctly.
Math: Number Sense is developed by using manipulative objects. Children classify, group and regroup objects; recognize patterns in sequences; identify numbers by the amount in the groups; and begin to understand addition, “putting together” and subtraction, “taking away”.
Poems, Nursery Rhymes, finger Plays: Children interpret words of selection with gestures and actions, as well as learning about rhyming words and keeping the beat. Rhymes further extend understanding and use of the form and function of language. Memorization skills re developed. What a fun, exciting way to develop all these skills!
Art: Art often reflects the literature of the day or seasonal themes and holidays. Children explore and create their own designs with various mediums.
Music: Children love learning with music. They appreciate music in all its various forms by listening, singing and dancing to it.
